Chris Organ (middle), Jacob Gardner (left), and Kevin Surya (right) presented their research at the Geological Society of America’s annual conference in late October. Chris (lab PI) gave an invited talk on the importance of using the fossil record in comparative genomics studies. Jacob (Ph.D. student) presented preliminary results for a study on the mode and tempo of genome size evolution across vertebrate animals. Kevin (undergraduate research assistant) presented near-final results for his project on the coevolution of pelvic morphology and egg shape in birds.
